Though temperatures may be in the 90s, it is Christmastime at the Christmas Box House of Salt Lake City and Sizzling Platter LLC (SPLLC) is helping celebrate. On Thursday, July 26th between 12pm and 1:30pm more than 40 children will enjoy a little holiday spirit in the summer. A team from Little Caesars Pizza and SPLLC’s Lend-a-Hand program will serve lunch at 12:30pm. "It's always healthy to step outside of our daily lives and focus on serving others,” said Melissa Michel, Lend-a-Hand program coordinator. “Problems always seem to get smaller that way." The children were chosen from several agencies in the Salt Lake area. Along with lunch and the holiday celebration, the children will receive a gift certificate from Little Caesars to enjoy after the event. "We are very proud of the individual participation by our team members,” said Ted Morton, Sizzling Platter CEO. “We love the communities we do business in and I think it shows." Lend-A-Hand is a SPLLC employee-funded philanthropy program. It’s dedicated to helping the community as well as the Sizzling Platter community in times of need. Sizzling Platter owns and manages more than 180 restaurants in seven states under the Little Caesars, Dunkin' Donuts, Sizzler, Red Robin, Ruby River Steakhouse and Hoppers Grill & Brewery brands. The Salt Lake Christmas Box House, located at 3660 S. West Temple in Salt Lake City, provides temporary crisis shelter and assessment services to children up through the age of eleven who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
